Day In The Life

Co-founder & CEO

I am an indie game developer and I co-own the game studio Decoy Games.

My Day to Day

I start my day by looking over the task board with my brother and then tackling each task that needs to get done that day. We also make sure to realign ourselves with our goals, especially during development periods. Development involves a lot of coding and art design. As we work, we’ll sync up throughout the day to make sure we’re both on track. We also spend time managing our community through social media. If a convention is coming up, we’ll spend time organizing equipment and getting ready.

Skills & Education

Here's the path I took:

  • High School

  • Bachelor's Degree

    Computer Science

    University of Massachusetts, Amherst

Life & Career Milestones

My path in life has been direct

  • 1.

I grew up with a strong interest in video games.

  • 2.

I followed in my brother’s footsteps and went to the University of Massachusetts Amherst for computer science.

  • 3.

After graduating, I got a job as a software engineer and worked my way up to a senior solutions consultant in tech sales.

  • 4.

While working in tech sales, my brother and I were designing our video game on the side.

  • 5.

After about a decade of working both jobs, I wanted to transition to game design full time and was able to convince my brother to do so after attending a gaming convention.

  • 6.

My brother and I co-founded Decoy Games and are now full-time indie game developers.

  • Computer science was difficult at first. It's one of those subjects that made no sense until it clicked in my mind. I was discouraged because my brother was ahead and it just wasn't clicking for me. However, once it clicked, I gained that confidence.
