My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
Majored in Electrical Engineering.
2.
Took too much on and changed my major to Government because it was easy.
3.
Worked at the same job I had before I got my degree because it was familiar.
4.
Decided that I really did want to be an Engineer so I went back to school.
5.
Graduated with a BS and an MS in Engineering.
6.
Got the job I always wanted solving problems and working with new technology everyday.

Failure is not an option.
How I responded:
I think I was often afraid to try because I was afraid to fail. It probably started with my parents but it extended to my teachers and friends. They expected me not to fail. It wasn't until I had a really good professor in college who told me that you can learn more from failure that I really understood how badly I was hurting myself by not giving my all. I played it safe but he told me that real engineers try and fail and try and fail over and over until they get it right.
