Life & Career Milestones

I've taken a lot of twists and turns

  • 1.

    Stopped going to high school.

  • 2.

    Starting drinking and smoking.

  • 3.

Hung out with the wrong crowd of people.

  • 4.

    Got in trouble.

  • 5.

Had my son at 18 and my daughter at 19. Still didn't finish high school.

  • 6.

Finally went back to high school and got my diploma.

  • 7.

After I received my diploma, I immediately went to LNA school.

  • 8.

Ever since then, I have become an LNA and started college to become an RN.

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Peers:

You don't want to be a LNA...you'll just wipe butts all day.

  • How I responded:

If you hear someone say this, just ignore them. I thought about the same thing. I was like, "Do I really want to do this?" But I thought to myself that I would be helping people. I love working with the elderly people. They make my day so much better. I love my job. I decided that I am going to continue my nursing path and become an RN.
